It was
quite bugging-wearing a belt with your pants while going to school every day.
The school belt was sort of boring too and it was annoying at times when the
buckle came out and I had to rush to the washroom to ensure it in place. When
school was over, college seemed an entirely new world to me with new friends
and freedom from the monotonous school uniform. Here I realised the
significance of belts and the style statement they made.
It was
my first week in college and I was caught in canteen by few seniors who had
some weird plan of ragging the fresh batch. One of the girls from their group
asked me to untie my belt and dance before them. When I said that I don’t wear
belt, they laughed aloud and asked me to wear a belt from
It was
through some of my classmates that I came to know that you ought to obey these
freak headed seniors, else they may end up bothering you like hell. I managed
to buy a brown belt. This non-leather belt had a huge steel buckle with a dragon
on it. The next day the same seniors noticed me and asked me to untie my belt.
I was about to do so when one of them saw the dragon and was quite impressed by
its design and appeal. He took it from me and wore it on his jeans. He liked it
so much that he asked me to give to him and told me to buy another one for
myself.
That
casual wear belt for boys had saved me from embarrassment that day and since
then I love wearing a belt and take pride in flaunting it.
